Headed for victory!

by The Boatswain | November 22nd, 2005

In late 1944 Gen MacArthur was getting all setup for invading the Island of Luzon and freeing Manila, as he had promised when he was forced to leave. The island of Mindoro was the biggest island just south of Luzon and we invaded it to use as a base for further action, There wasn’t too much for the Beach Jumpers to do there except routine work and the area was under much air attacks by the Japanese. (For much more details of this action you can go to: Luzon 1944-1945). Luckily we had great air cover.
